Activities:
Completion exercises, written and oral comprehension exercises, deduction, pronunciation exercises, compositions, dictations, simulations, small workshops, small projects, teaching portfolios, oral presentations, information research, use of dictionaries (paper and digital), translation. Use of English to communicate in the classroom. Reading activities: circulating and class library. Computer work.
Criteria:
- Unit test: grammar exercises, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension and written expression.
- Classwork: Speaking exercises, notebooks, portfolios.
- For partial term grades: proportional percentage: 80% content, 10% class activities and 10% attitude (student's interest and effort). It is compulsory to submit the dossier or notebook and exercise book to pass the term.
- For the final mark: average of three term marks.
- To pass the course a minimum grade of 5 out of 10 is required in two of the three terms, one of which must necessarily be the last one.
- Should this requirement not be fulfilled, students may sit a special test in June and another in September
Evaluation:
Evaluation of the student’s progress will be done through:
- Written and Oral Tests: grammar, vocabulary, writing, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and speaking.
- Homework, classwork and attitude in the class.
